Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ChoreQuest ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Agreement"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

This Agreement is between you and ChoreQuest ("we," "us," or "our") and governs your use of our mobile application available through the Apple App Store.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on iOS devices that you own or control
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial family task management purposes
• Make reasonable copies of the App for backup purposes

You may NOT: (a) modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works; (b) rent, lease, or sell the App; (c) remove any proprietary notices; (d) use the App for any unlawful purpose.

• How to Cancel: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > ChoreQuest > Cancel Subscription
• Refunds: All refunds are handled by Apple. Contact Apple Support or request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com
• Access After Cancellation: You will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period

3.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. If you don't agree to the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.

4. Family Sharing

Subscriptions support Apple's Family Sharing feature:

• Up to 6 family members can share one subscription
• Family members must be part of your iCloud Family Sharing group
• The subscription organizer controls billing
• Each family member's data remains private within their own iCloud account

5. Age Requirements

This App is suitable for all ages. However:

• Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian create their account
• Parents are responsible for supervising their children's use of the App
• We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
• Parents can manage and delete their children's data at any time

6. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Create false accounts or impersonate others
• Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements
• Share your subscription credentials with non-family members
• Upload malicious or inappropriate content
• Interfere with the App's operation

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by ChoreQuest and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implied warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability of results

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or use
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so the above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChoreQuest and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of this Agreement
• Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for:

• Violation of this Agreement
• Conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or the App
• Legal or regulatory requirements

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Sections 8, 9, and 10 will survive termination.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Posting the updated terms on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• In-app notification for significant changes

Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [Your Jurisdiction].

14. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

This Agreement incorporates Apple's standard Application License Agreement terms. You acknowledge that:

• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this Agreement
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims related to the App
• Any warranty claims are against us, not Apple
• Apple is not responsible for data collection or privacy practices
